A short story included at the end of Gyo.
A family is celebrating the completion of their new house that was just built for them; but their father is nowhere to be seen. The family's daughter hears screams that sound like him. Everyone follows the sound downstairs to the basement, where the man has somehow become stuck under the principal post that holds the house together, and is being crushed to death. He doesn't want to be rescued because if the post is moved, the house that his family longed for will collapse. He announces there is no way to save his life, and he will sacrifice himself so his family can have the house. Later that evening, he dies and the family puts up a shrine by the post. He dies there, forever leaving behind the mystery of how he got stuck underneath the post in the first place.
